285/70/17 = 32.7"

I just put on 275/60/20 = 32.9"...no rubbing with 2" spacer (stock wheels)

The 285 is .6" wider which will make tolerances closer

What does this mean, exactly?

Thanks.

Pushes the wheel out farther from the well letting it clear better.

I'm thinking he probably means a coil spacer which levels out the front end, allowing a bigger tire in the front. There was one on ebay that was leveled with 35's on it. There was some rubbing but they were 35's so I see no reason 285's wouldn't fit. After leveling mine, it sure looks like they would. The NNBS wells are huge and will swallow up a 22" wheel like a NBS will a 20".

You are probably correct. I guess my mind was stuck on a wheel spacer and not a coil spacer. It was a bit confusing the way it was written, thus my question.

I appreciate the replies, but I was hoping to hear that the 285 70 17 tires would fit without any problems with a stock 2007 NBS 4x4 setup. I know that they will fit if I level my truck (which I plan to do eventually), but I was hoping to be able to get the tires before I do the leveling. These stock Goodyear Wrangler STs look the tires that came on my parent's 1982 Oldsmobile Delta 88! Talk about a familymobile!

It looks like there is plenty of room to throw on a set of 285s. It's just a lot nicer knowing that it's been done w/o any problems when you're shelling out the big money for tires!

Thanks for the help.

Yeah...i meant to say coil spacer/lift.

Those tires should not be a problem cuz the 2'' lift does not get the tire out of the wheel well anyway. The only issue you will have is the extra 10 mm of tire width which might rub the liner a bit.
