Buying A 06

I'm looking into possibly purchasing a 2006 sierra Denali but it has been in the dealer’s inventory for around 430 days. Is there anything that I should be concerned about with a vehicle that has sat on the dealer’s lot for that long?

Hey, don't mean to thread-jack but I'm not allowed to post a new topic yet. I'm also looking at buying a 2006, its a Sierra 1500 crew with an MSRP of 31,133. The dealer is a couple hours away from me, so I called them to get a quote.

 

The salesperson was completely vague, and acted as if the only discount I would get was the rebate..$4750. I hung up on her, infuriated that the best deal she would give me on a year old truck was just the rebate. She claimed that she wouldn't talk specifics unless I came up in person.

 

The internet sales dept. quoted me : $24,580 (4750 rebate, 1800 discount).

 

On GM's supplier discount website, the truck is $23,250 ($29000 minus $5750 in rebates - there is an additional $1K rebate through GM supplier discount)

 

How can I get a better deal on this truck? What should I be expecting to pay?

 

The dealer has 9 2006 sierras left, so maybe they have a lot left just because they don't make good deals.

Bought my '06 GMC CC 4x4 2500HD 6.0L SLE2 in November of last year, it was on the dealer lot for 378days. Original sticker $41,500 in March of 06 it was droped to $37,200. I was able to buy it for $32,500 out the door + 7 year warrenty. Only problem was the oil pump went out at 5,500 miles truck has 6100 miles now.

I would take a good look at the wheels/tires and make sure they match the sticker. I saw a Tahoe that a dealer traded parts on.

Wait until the end of the month and then go back. they might give you a better deal. They really want to get rid of the '06s if they can.

What's the VIN #? I can get you a build date and that plus about 2 weeks for transport will give you a rough idea of how long its been on their lot.

You bought this truck 10-14-06 with 52 miles on it.

This LT3 Silverado was built November 16, 2005.

 

FWIW. I bought my 2006 Sierra after it sat on a dealer lot for 13 months. I did have to machine the front rotors to get rid of a brake pulsation it had. I do not know if this is your concern.
