Does it feel like it almost wants to stall? Maybe the torque converter won't unlock.

I do rember one time on a 1200 mile road trip about a year ago the check engine light came on for 20 miles or so the truck would not idle on its own or anything. Then after 50 miles or so it straigned out and never came back on again. Now that I think of it it did it 2 times or so on that trip. I called the owner who had it before me and he said that happened to him before. Not that it has anything to do with the second gear issue but maybe an underlying problum? I'm going to change the O2 sensors soon as ill bet they are the factory ones. Anyone know where they are located, how many, the avarage cost per sensor? Sorry for the long post I just want to get this truck up to 100%.

There should be one just before the cat converter. Not sure about the price though, probably around $30 each.

Also check your fuel filter, that might be causing your problem.

Thanks I'll try that also. I'm new to GM's..... I owned Fords most of my life. I'm pretty decent with gas engines, but I'm a diesel tech more inclined to work on the big boys.
