Tune Coming Soon

I will be ordering a Wait4Me tune in the next two weeks. I need a little help to make sure I get it right.

 

I am wanting the 87/89 tune & do not need the "haul ass" mode. I need my tow button to work as it should when I am towing. I tow a bass boat on weekends & when on hills, the little 4.8 struggles. I am hoping the tune will help it out a little!

 

For daily driving, better overall performance would be great without suffering in the gas mileage dept. It has a bad "I don't want to go" attitude at about 40 mph (unless accelerating fairly quickly) such as when coming out of a curve on one of the many coutry roads I travel.

 

How do I need to explain this to him when ordering? Anything I need to specifically ask for?

 

Anyone else get a tune mainly for towing?

Just tell him you want 87-89 tune, with towing being your main focus. My tow/haul mode is the same as it was before, shifts a little stronger tho. Just tell him what you want out of the tune.

I asked for more performance than gas mileage....87 octane. When I use my tow button, the shift points make is seem like its haulin A$$. Throws you back in your seat actually... Make sure you mention towing.... I might send mine back eventually for a retune.

As long as you tell him what you want, what you have, and what you use your truck for, he will do his best to make you happy. And if not, you can send it back for a re-tune for free. Oh, and I would opt for the new pcm, so you have the original as a spare. That way your truck will not be out of commission for a few days.
