Lend Me Your Vin?

Guys,

I am trying to have GMpartsDirect.com look up some prices on some parts for me that didn't come on my truck. They seem more than willing to help out but what they need from me, and now what I need from you, is a VIN for a truck with the options I am looking for. The real trick here is that I need a VIN for a fairly well loaded truck but one without the Yukon style interior.

I need a VIN for this style of interior (mine is a GMC and black but this should provide good reference) :

These are the options I am looking to find the numbers for:

Center Console

HomeLink

Auto Climate Controls

Thanks, Fellas!

Hey Daddy, I know what you mean. What I HATE about my truck is the color of the seats. What color did you opt for?

And I'll be interested in what you come up with. Mine is a SLE2, so I can't be any help.

Betware future owners, Light Titanium Dark Titanium makes the Seat's almost a creamy white. NOT Light Titanium.

I wonder if there is anything that can be done about this, doubt it though, I feel like I was mislead because I Asumed the seats would be Light titanium which is a totally different color.

Just drive onto a car lott and write one down.

That certainly is an option but I thought I would ask my friends here for help first rather than driving across town during work.

Hey, I need a list of GM part numbers for my 07 Silverado too. I'm also thinking of adding a few things that I didn't get on my LS. If I get a vin off an LTZ, how do I go about translating the vin to a list of part #'s ?

I am requesting the part numbers and prices from GMPartsDirect.com (one of the supporting vendors) based on the VIN. I tell them what part I want from which truck and they give me the number and the price if it is available. Be careful with the interiors though as the parts can differ greatly depending on which interior of truck you have versus the one the VIN came from.

Did you find what you were looking for? Auto climate controls would be a sweet add-on. I wonder if they are plug and play? (Just replace the section of dash with the controls, plug up, etc.)

Haven't heard back from them yet but they have been really helpful in the past. I too wonder if it'll be plug and play. The original controls come out easy enough though. I just wonder if the temp esnsors are pre-wired and there already like the DIC cable was. We'll see!

In fact, I did. Sorry, forgot to post the results. They can not tell me for certain whether or not it will work but I am highly inclined to believe it will. The auto climate controls are available on the SLE and I believe this is going to be another scenario similar to the DIC upgrade in that the wiring is all there, or the same, and it's simply a matter of which controller is used.

The part number I was given for this part is: 15952374

I just haven't gotten around to ordering it yet as I was waiting for the chrome tow hooks (see sig for link) and my Magnaflow to arrive (Monday).

Cool. Only 136.00 through gmpartsdirect. That would be yet another slam dunk upgrade if the wiring was already there. The only thing I'm not sure about is where they'd hide the temp sensors. Maybe I'll start tugging on my ac controls and see if I can look behind them for any unused wiring. Thanks for the info. Your truck is coming together nicely - you get your exhaust yet? *Edit: I see your sig says you get it tomorrow, don't forget to give us pics and audio when it's done!

Good luck. Hope you are not out smarting yourself. I ordered a part. They asked for my vin, which they got, and I got the wrong part anyway! They said, oh, yeah, the vin ensures you get the right stuff because we've coded all options you have in our database--or NOT. They still got it wrong.

Did you give them your VIN or a VIN from a truck with the options you wanted? If you give them your VIN for a part not on your truck, you'll not get what you are looking for.
