A/c Issue

For the past few weeks it has been nice and warm outside so I went to use my A/C and I quickly noticed that my driver side seemed to be stuck on heat vs. the passenger side that blows ice cold air. I played with the switch (up and down) and nothing changed for the driver side. I did noticed that after turning the ignition off and waiting a few minutes that the A/C would start coming out on the driver side but a few minutes later it would switch back to heat.

I pulled the A/C-Heat control out just to make sure the wires were pushed up on the connection/plug and the A/C seemed to be fine for awhile. Then this week the drive side started blowing regular vent air vs. A/C again. Could my control unit be bad?

basic extended cab 4.8 03 1500 silverado.

Thanks in advanced.

Unfortunately I won't be much help to you. My truck is having the same problem. Seems like the driver's side kicked out like this before and I cycled the switch and brought the cold back. Also the bulb is out on the driver's side. Passenger side is blowing cold so compressor has to be working...right?? I plan on pulling the HVAC control out and checking/replacing it. Advice would be greatly appreciated!

I've enjoyed the posts on this site. This week the A/C problem and ABS EBCM goes out at the same time.

Same here. I couldn't get it to go back to cooling, so I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and reconnected it. Worked fine after that, but it's only been one day.

Unfortunately - I do not know the answer to your question. I, too, am having a/c problems with my 2001 Tahoe.
