Left, Rear Stop Light/blinker Not Working...

1999 GMC Yukon. Left rear stop light/blinker has stopped working. New bulb installed and it is still not working. It will not illuminate for running or stop lights. I tested the plug and there is power when the blinker is acctivated and/or the brake pedal is depressed, but the bulb will not illuminate. What could be the problem and how do I fix it?

Ok good that you figured it out.........I had the same problem with my right side tail light. Was going to buy replacement plate from Autozone....the noticed what I was buying & said I should take awl point & force the light contact tabs out a little to make sure the contact the bulb properly. I looked at him strange then he said hold on....he retrived a screw driver, nut driver, & his pocket knife. He went out to my truck and proceeded to work on the tail light assembly. After about 5 minutes he had it working & saved me about $25.00 for a new light plate. It has happened once since he worked on it & I did the same thing & fixed myself. The reason I tell you this because I find you rarely ever find a true knowledgable fix it guy at these type places or at least I havent.
