This past weekend I decided to paint the Bowtie in the grille and the chromed plactic bars in the grille.  Turned out pretty well I thought.  I've already had a few people ask me where I got the Bowtie.  Best of all it cost me nothing (but time) since I already had all the stuff I needed.  The pictures don't really show it well, but the bowtie matches the color of the body exactly.  I had been thinking about doing this for a while, but couldn't get my self to do it until now.

Tell me what you think.

Thats a cool look Tom,  really different and looks GOOD...I like it, certainly alot more than that other ugly red truck behind yours in the pic......

That looks pretty slick man!  Nothing like owning a truck and doin' whatever ya want to the thing.  My girlfriend doesn't understand my addiction to my truck and tinkering with it.  Oh well, I've got plenty of time to train her on the finer aspects of automobile customization!  Nice truck Tom!

Thanks everyone.

Pastmaster, For the bowtie, I used Dupli-color Victory Red paint and some Glossy clear coat.   I don't remember the prand of clear coat.  For the grille inserts, I used some MarHyde (sp?) satin bumper and trim paint.  I first sprayed some of that stuff that that makes the bumper and trim paint adhere good to the surface your painting.  With both items, I sanded them down real well so the paint had something to "hold on to".

To steal a line from Billy Crystal, "you look mavalus".

Very distinguished.

Thanks LT!

Here's one without the headlight covers.  I think I'm going to get me a set of those clear front corner lenses for it.  That orange reflector just seems kind of out of place to me.

I take them off at night.  You can't see squat with them installed.  If I'm just going a short distance around here on the base, I'll leave them on.  I don't always have them on though.  Sometime I'll go a few weeks without them.  I guess it all depends on how I feel.  LOL  During the summer, they are usually on most of the time.

Thanks again for the nice comments everyone.
