Fuse Keeps Blowing

I have a '95 blazer and one of the 20 amp fuses keeps blowing.

I located the fuse box.

I replaced all fuses.

All work fine except for the HORN fuse.

Every time I replace the fuse, it blows within minutes. Sometimes when I'm putting in the new fuse, the "outlet" or whatever its called will spark and blow the fuse right then and there.

All other fuses work fine.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Note - I replaced my battery a week or two before this started happening. The battery was a downgrade from my previous one. Could this have an impact?

You've got a short in the horn circuit. Stop putting fuses in it. Trace the problem and fix it first.

I'm not familiar with your year vehicle, but I believe the horn is near the battery. Could you have pinched a wire when you put the battery in? I don't show the horn in my Haines manual wiring diagrams. You could unplug the horn and see if the fuse still blows. That could help eliminate the horn as being the problem of course.

If the fuse doesn't blow when the horn is disconnected, the horn itself is bad.

But, if a wire is pinched/crossed, disconnecting the horn wont stop the fuse from blowing.

Like it's been asked, have ya checked the horn wiring?

I wouldn't expect a lower grade battery to be the cause of this.

sounds like your horn is shot. i don't know for your year, but check and see if you have a relay for your horn. if thats bad it would cause your issues.

I have a 94 Jimmy and the IGN/GAU fuse keeps blowing, also it has gone through 3 batteries and 2 alternators and when checking now at the battery with vehicle running it is only 12.25 volts.
