Dual Zone A/c Heat Problem?

I have the dual zone controls with the 0-5 rotary dial. Some days it does not shut off and 0,1,2 are all seemingly on 1, other days 1,2 don't work but 3-5 do? Not a big deal since 3-5 work but has anyone come across this and how hard would it be to fix yourself. I encountered this on a chrysler sebring my wife had and had it fixed under warranty, it was some resistor block fried or something......

You have an open circuit within your blower resistor.

 

The resistor dictates fan speed. Very common to see a few speeds that quit working.

 

Nice and easy to get at...right in front of the blower motor. Swap-out is a breeze.
