What Do You Think Of The New Metallic Brown Color?

I am thinking of metallic brown for a 2500HD personal truck custom order. I guess this is a new color because I don't see many of these on the road. It does not appear that a lot of people choose this color because it is also rare at the dealership lots. To me it comes across as having more personality than the shades of gray, earthy, fitting for someone who would want to pull a horse trailer rather than a teenager trying to show off. The interesting thing is that this color is often used in the promo marketing images, and even at the top of this forum page. What do you think; what does a brown truck say about the owner when you glance at it on the street?

I only buy red, white, or black vehicles. Those are the only three colors that appeal to me. But that's me. If you like the new brown, go for it. I've seen it on the new Silverado - did not care for it at all. But then the only color I've seen that I like on the new Silverado is red. I've also seen a new Sierra with it, and it looked fine on that. But I'm partial to Sierras anyway, but mine in black.

Thanks Mazz, indeed those colors, especially black, white, and gray, are most common at the dealerships. Any others who have seen the metallic brown?

My boss has a brand new GMC Sierra 3500 in that color. I think it looks very nice and it's different. If I weren't genetically programmed to only buy black cars I would definitely consider it.

Im thinking about that color, it looks pretty good in the ww.GMC.com sierra pictures section on that NBS RCSB

but I want to see it in person first

My brother went to go see it and he decided to order a truck in metallic brown. He looked at the dark gray and brown side-by-side at the dealer lot and said that the brown looked better hands-down. It looked lighter than in the marketing photos because it was a sunny day. He sent me a cell phone photo and it looked like a golden tone, very nice and upscale. The metallic colors have this chameleon effect of changing shades depending on the exterior lighting.

Don't really care for brown, red, or maroon colored vehicles in general. Just about any other color would do, just depends on the vehicle. Previous vehicle was a grand prix in galaxy silver metallic, and before that was a black grand am; but for the Denali, I specifically wanted something "tan" or pewter like. Great all weather color, doesn't show dirt all that much, and looks great clean.

And I'm in my mid 20's, and certainly don't feel "old" driving it. If anything, people assume I've got a family/kids because I drive a Yukon. I just happen to like big impractical vehicles. :banghead:

I saw the brown color at the dealerships. Pleasant enough, but not an attention grabber. I'b buy the color if the truck was what I wanted option-wise, go for it.

It looks pretty good, but I wouldn't want it, I hated that my F150 was tan haha, not too much you can do with those light gold & brown colors.

I thought the same thing when I was picking out my truck a few weeks ago. I originally wanted the Stelth Grey with black interior. But the dealer didnt have any so I decided on the Med. Brown Metallic one they had. I love the color. I have since sat it next to a stelth grey Sierra and I am so glad I went with the brown. The pics on the internet really dont do it justice. I have a few friends that hate brown/gold cars, but love the color of my truck.

Another thought, if you haven’t seen this color in person, don’t knock it to quickly. Some people might be turned off because it says brown in the color name. I usually hate brown vehicles also, mainly because the brown is dark like dirt or mud. But the Medium Brown Metallic has a hint of brown and is somewhere between a brown and a silver. I dont think medium brown was a good name choice for this color. Keep in mind that “Stelth Grey” is actually a blueish color. So that said, here is a close up shot of my brown truck.

If I'm buying a new body style, its going to be the brown. I saw it on the lot and fell in love with it. By far my favorite color. The new silverish blue color is a close second for me as well. I love the Victory Red as well, but Everyone in my family has at least one bright red vehicle besides me. (Mom's 06' Victory Red Vette, Dad's 07' 1500 NBS CC, Cousin's 05' Ext. Cab Sierra Z71, Grandfather's SSR, Uncles F-150 (He's the Oddball).) I just don't want to be the same.

Right now for me it's between

07' GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 NBS Metallic Brown SLT 4x4

07' Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Classic Black 4x4 LT2 w/ the the LBZ Duramax

07' Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD NBS Metallic Brown LT2 Z71 4x4 w/ the LMM Duramax

Now to test drive the first two again, and test drive a LMM, The third truck is a ways away, so I'm going to make sure I like the LMM before having the other truck brought to me or going to see it.
