Got Bad News From Jesse Bubb

I was checking on just buying a PCM module already tuned and keeping my stock one on the shelf, I sent an email asking for prices and tune specs and this is what I got back.

"I'm sorry right now we can't get any of the 2007 computers for a decent price so the only way that we can tune for them is if you either send us your stock PCM for $75 plus $9 for shipping or we also sell the SCT Xcalibrator for $369. On that you get to pick 3 different types of tunes that you want. Jesse makes the tunes and loads them on the device and mails it to you. You load what tune you want for the day and your good to go. The Xcalbrator holds 3 tunes, can return the computer back to stock and also has a scan tool too.

Thanks!

Hannah"

I'm thinking of just going with a programmer now, that way you don't have to be taking out your PCM when you want a change. I wouldn't buy any hand held tuner unless it could clear codes and change tire size as well as flash program. I need to ask more questions.

Hopefully the price will change and he will get some in soon.

Actually, when you think about it, that is a hell of a deal. 3 tunes at your disposal, no crank relearn, change anytime you want, and have a scan tool...that is the way to go! If you do go to the dealer and they flash over your tune, just plug in and reload. I think I am going to go this route when I get a few more miles on the clock.

Just ordered mine today and should receive it as soon as he catches up on his backlog. Requested the Performance, Gas Mileage, and Max Tune options. Here is a link to the actual tool he uses.

I'll post an update once I receive it and compare it to the hypertech I have right now.

You guys are about to cost me some $s and my Wife is not going to be happy.

Hey for a total of 398.95, I can have 3 tunes and store my factory tune. How did I arrive at 398.95?

That would be 369.00 for the tune and 29.95 for a dozen roses.

This sounds great and I'm really looking into it. Whoever gets one first let us all know. How long does it take to reprogram the tunes and what not? This is something I'd definitely be interested in(Mileage, Performance, Towing tunes).

Go for it Trey! You'll love the tune(s)...and your wife will love the roses. Just don't tell her what the roses were for. ;)

I just e-mailed him tonight about it, so I'll see what they have to say for my 2000 5.3. I am anxious to hear back hopefully I'll know something tomorrow.

I cannot seem to get a response from Jesse via e mail. I called him yesterday and was able to get him and get some more info about the Excalibrator. He was very nice and told me he could do whatever I wanted with the unit and it would store the factory settings as when I loaded one of the 3 avail tunes. I explained that I wanted to leave my TM and shift points alone and he said no problem. When I asked how long it takes to reprogram he said "a few minutes". I do not know if this literally means a few or maybe 10 mins.

I am really considering this because I will have some choices and can reload my factory settings at any time. I am considering an Economy Tune, a Perf Tune and one specifically for Towing which he said he could do.

I'm really tempted to get the excalibrate as well, even though I have an existing wait4me tune.

I like the idea of having 3 tunes on hand.

Does anyone know if you have to do a crank re-learn with one of Jesse's hand held units? I failed to ask him this but it seems someone had posted that you do not unless you remove your PCM.

Nope, since you are keeping your existing PCM, no need for a case learn.

The new hand held tuners should take no more than 1-3 minutes to program your vehicle.

But I should have an exact time fairly soon - mine just shipped today!
