03 Hd Air Condition Question

I was curious about the settings.I didnt get a manual with my used truck.I have a dual climate system( knob/digital readout driver and pasenger side adjustments).When its turned down to a certain degree is that when the ac kicks on and off at a certain degree?How do I know when its "off" over turning the system off.Past vehicles Ive had had an ac button, this one doesnt.I have a snow flake with a line through it, Im assuming this is?

The truck will control your temp based on what you set. You can overide the control by turning the A/C off (snow flake will go away) or turning it AUTO-ON (snow flake in LCD). You really want to leave it set to auto-on so the truck can use both A/C and heat as needed.
