Radio Is Not Playing Cds

For the past few months I have been getting a check cd error message on my screen. I know the cds are fine and it happens on cd'r and regular. My truck is slightly out of warrants by a few thousand miles. I know from working at nissan they have a good will program for this problem. Is this something the dealer may cover? Or, is this a problem I can fix?

Mine was doing that too...I just bought a CD cleaner and ran it through about 10 times. Seems to work good now.

 

There is probably a load of crap stuck to your laser lens.

Yep, just get a cd cleaner, that should help. If not, you'll likely need to replace the HU.

Agree with all the above. And if its fried, and if its the oem deck, throw it out. Those are junk. Get yourself a nice 200-300 dollar alpine and you'll be set.

mine is broke too!! im not too worried im getting a ipod with an FM transmitter, tried cleaning it but didnt work at all!!

My buddy has a 03 Z71 and his cd player had a cd in it stuck. I thought there was a reset button on the back I haven't looked yet, but how else could he get it out?
