6.0l Coolant Temps

I am curious what coolant temps other's are seeing with their 6.0L's in their HD's. My '04 2500HD 4x4 always runs just a hair below 210 no matter what. It can be in the winter, the summer, with or without A/C, this thing always runs just barely shy of 210. I know these newer vehicles tend to run warmer, but is this anything to be concerned about? The truck is bone stock with a 6.0L, 4L80-E, 4.10 gears, and it has 32000 miles on it.

Thanks.

Most likely it's due to a 195 deg thermostat.

I have a 180 degree t-stat in my truck with a hypertech ppIII. I run it at the low setting most of the time and it always stayed right at 180. The only time that I noticed it moving at all was when I was pulling our 5ver to Florida from Michigan. When I was on the long climbs at 60-65 mph, it would climb to just below red. When I let off the throttle after the climb it would be about 5-10 minutes and it would jump right to about 200 and then gradually to 180. When I say jump, it was like someone hit a switch and the needle moved. I have over 100k on the truck now, I had 80K on that trip. So far this year towing arounf MI, the needle has stayed at 180.

My 07 runs dead center at 210 degrees - have not seen it go any higher - even when towing in 100 degree heat with AC on.

Just below 210 - no matter what - towing 5,000 lbs or 7,000lbs - flats or mountains.

But trans gauge always indicates ambient temperature at slower speeds. If it's 100 degrees outside then trans temp gets near the middle of the gauge when towing.

They have massive amounts of cooling power.

210 all day long. Summer, fall, winter and spring, makes no difference.

2002 - 8.1

195 on the factory gauge.

always the same no matter the outside temp = since I bought new in Jan 02.

Using my Interceptor Scan gauge as a temp gauge when towing my 6500 lb camper, it shows my coolant temp at 197 on a steady run. If I pull a moderate hill it may move up to 202 or 203 but it comes right back down to 197 to 199. This is not on a 6.0 as you asked but on the vehicle in my sig.
