Dome Light Problem

In my 2000 CK 2500 Pickup (not new silverado) I have recently developed a problem with the interior dome light. The light would come on while driving or not go off after the door closed. What would be the problem? It ran my battery down the other night. I currently using the dome override button, but it is a pain to have no lights.

Check to see if the switch in the door jam is acting up. I'm not 100% sure if the old body style had those or not but that might be a place to look.

Could also be a pinched wire, or a wire that is rubbing bare metal. Once had a minivan and the front and rear dome lights would come on and off driving down the road. It was still under warranty so I took it in and the tech had to remove the entire headliner to find where the wire harness was not routed correctly.
