Im looking for just a handheld programmer the deal is right now i can get a superchip flashpaq for real cheap but ive been hearing edge evolution is the best. Is edge worth paying alot more and waiting to find one? or sould i just get the flashpaq

I have the flashpaq...and it offers alot of the same things as the edge...I'm pretty sure very similar performance...the edge does have a few more features I think...but with intake and exhaust my truck pulls quite a bit nicer than stock.

one of the big differences is .. the Edge unit can be left hooked up and have other guage readouts shown in real time while you are driving ... (and to a smaller extent, some of the information like from those old G-tech units, 0-60, quarter mile time etc... )

You can data log with the Superchips and it will give you PIDs and 0-60, 1/4 mile and a bunch of other things just like the Edge in that respect.

The guy told me 300-320 and hell get me one, if the flashpaq is only lacking the real-time statistics but puts out the same power i think ill just get it instead of adding 200 bucks for edge's led monitor

You can leave the flashpaq plugged in while you are driving and data log real time info just like the edge...you can do advanced data logging which allows you to log all sorts of engine pids and bunch of other things, then you can data log by speed or distance to give you times for 0-60, 1/4 mile, 60' times and alot more. The flashpaq is a pretty nice unit and Superchips has been pretty responsive to updating the unit when problems arise...the customer service has been pretty good. Not trying to tell you to buy one or the other...just trying to give you a little better idea of what the flashpaq is able to do... www.flashpaq.com

Edge is offering a $50 rebate on the Evolution right now. So, you should be able to get one from TruMotorSports.com for $330.00. Here's a pic of it with the dash pod on my SLT:

      We live in a world where the average person expects more. People say wages and our needs are farther apart. My first new home had 3 bedrooms and one bedroom. My first car and truck had what would be considered a stripped or work vehicle. In my neighborhood back then there were more homes like that and cars too. Middle managers and second home buyers worked their way up to the fancy houses and cars. Car loans were 3 years. GM had different models of cars for different income levels. The cars were pretty much the same size if you wanted a big vehicle. The nameplate designated the opulence. Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Oldsmobile and Cadillac.  To be fair some of the cost is government mandated. We can’t blame them for giving us what people will pay for. Careful advertising steering people towards more profitable SUVs and trucks. As I learned recently a minivan is a cheaper more efficient form of transportation. Certainly easier to live with. Somebody realized the profit margin wasn’t as big and gave it a soccer mom label. So it lost its coolness. They’re making it the masses are buying it. You hit your hand with a hammer you can’t blame the hammer.

      Electrical /Immobilizer Data- Battery Voltage (V) Test malfunction

      Hi All, I’m In need of advice regarding a scan result on my 2023 Silverado HD.  The Sensor Supply voltage relay states ON But…. the following 3 tests show Malfunction. Sensor supply voltage relay control circuit HIGH voltage Test status- Malfunction Sensor supply voltage relay control circuit LOW voltage Test status- Malfunction Sensor supply voltage relay control circuit OPEN test status - Malfunction. No DTC codes are stored. No DIC Lights. Remote Key Fob has been giving a few issues, namely Vehicle will not respond to an Open/Lock command from the key fob. New batteries installed to FOB made no difference, plus on one occasion recently the vehicle unlocked using the Fob, the vehicle started normally via the push button, then a random warning came up on the DIC stating the Remote Key was not found, all this while the key was located next to the central cup holders. Does anyone have any input or advice regarding this scenario? TIA

      I agree, simplicity and reliability matter more as vehicles get more complicated. A V8 work truck option with fewer electronic features and a stronger warranty would definitely appeal to a lot of buyers who use their trucks for real work. Customizing it with trusted outfitters is often the best way to get exactly what you need

      I’ve heard similar complaints from newer vehicles where the factory “premium” systems don’t always live up to expectations. A good installer should be able to improve the sound without turning it into a bass-heavy setup. I’d look into upgrading the front speakers, adding a quality DSP amplifier, and possibly improving sound deadening first—those changes usually make a much bigger difference than just adding a subwoofer. Hopefully someone local can recommend a reputable installer in the Las Vegas/St. George area.
