Raced A Turbo Civic Today

Stopped at a light where the road started into a 2 lane and continued without any traffic lights for about maybe 1/2 a mile. Kid revved it up to show off his lil turbo car, which i didnt really care about. Bored and asked him you wanna run? Of course kid all thinkin he was gunna spank me said SURE!! Light turned green, I punched it and spun a little off the line, and he was behind my rear wheel well until the truck hit second, then I f'n took off like a bat out of hell, and kicked his ass. Not to bad for a relatively stock silvy. One thing though my truck sounds like it has a supercharger when I have it to the floor for some reason, but I cant seem to find it LOL.

hahaha yeah, no idea. I had to go to homedepot, so had no time to open up his hood lol. I love how ricer people say they have 20 grand in their cars, and all they have is wheels and tires, body kit, cd player, maybe subs, and a Aem intake. Way to spend 2 grand lol

That seems to be my experience with them as well. They blow a grand or two on audio, and body mods and nothing but a fart can for the exhaust.

You have a nice truck and all, but if that car really had a turbo on it, he would smoke you. He either had a fake turbo or he didn't get on it.

I was thinking the same. An average turbo on a little 1.x liter 4 banger should be able to lay down 250+whp, which is plenty enough for a 3300lb car to be fast. Hell SRT4 Neons have 230whp and they run DEEP 14's rock stock, almost 13's. If it was turbo'd he couldn't drive, lots of people with Cobalt SS S/C can barely break into 14's, while good drivers can run deep 14's with them.

if the motor is built right they should have 200+ ... but a lot of them .. just slap a turbo on a stock motor ... and not much else ... i have seen quite a few that were built correctly... get dyno'd ... and were barely hitting 190 to 200 ...

add onto that, the normal body kit ... or heavier wheels ... and stereo equipment .. and it almost cancles out what power they gained ...
