Active Fuel Management 07 5.3 Help

Has anyone been able to disable the afm all together. IMO its worthless and with my exhaust it sounds like a boat when it kicks into v4. The word from hypertech, superchip etc is that there is no way to manipulate it. There has got to be. Anyone have any suggestions or has anyone actually had a pcm tune that shuts it down. My ride is an 07 Silverado 1500 5.3

I have a custom tune and had the AFM disabled. I plan on having the exhaust done and didn't want to run into the problems your having. I have an 07 Sierra 5.3.

so its 100% disabled then?? Did you go through wheatly?? I just put on a cat back flowmaster 50 series truck performance system(mandrell bend) and it sounds great until afm kicks in lol.

Yea, I had Charlie Wheatley tune it. He was able to turn it of 100%. Truck runs alot better. He tuned the 04 Sierra I had before this one also. He is a nice guy and nows what he is doing.
