High Rpms = Sloppy Shifting On 99

On my 99, it feels almost like its slipping into gear if I punch it and hold out on it, like it feels like its kicking into gear, and doesnt feel healthy. I plan to take a video tommorow of the tach to show what it does. Im hoping the torque converter isnt on its way out. Only does it on REAL high rpms, like if I drive it like I stole it and the cops are behind me lol.

Not the TC but the tranny. Sounds like the clutches. How does the fluid look/smell?

Is it something I should worry about, it only does it when im driving it like hell. When city driving and or country driving, trans is nice shifting as can be. In tow haul mode though, the shifts are harsh, and you know its in gear.

Is that harshness what you feel at wide open throttle?

 

This is normal. If it is a long excessive (hard to describe in words) slippage between the gears, that is not normal.

It goes in pretty fast,but its just on the harsh side when it goes in, its not as harsh as tow haul mode though.

At wide open throttle the shift should be firmer, but not shift kit firm or Tow/Haul mode firm (Firm/Harsh).
