Corsa Vs Borla

I've got a 2007 nnbs Sierra CC SLT and am trying to decide what exhaust to go with. I am looking at either the Borla or the Corsa single side exits, and have found both for around 700 bucks. Anyone have any opinions/advice as to which one, pleeeeease. pics/sound clips would be great if you got em

DITTO! I'd also like to know if you can hear the shift from V8 to V4 and back with either of these systems, and which one it's more pronounced? I can't hear any difference with the stock exhaust, and I'd like to keep it that way!

Then leave it stock, there is very little, if any, performance gain anyway.

I keep hearing that, and will probably end up leaving it stock, but I would like a bit more of a growl, I just don't want it to sound different in V4 mode! I believe someone described it as sounding like a boat motor in V4 mode! I've heard the Corsa and Borla don't sound any different, but I need some reasurance! Besides, it' no fun if you can't mod!

I wouldn't think that you would be able to hear any difference, especially with the Corsa. The Corsa is silent at cruise and you only hear it when there is a load on the engine. The engine goes back to V8 mode under load so you should be good to go with the Corsa.

I think it would be good information if you let us know what you end up with and how well you like it. A sound clip even...

I will for sure, at this point in time I'm leaning towards the Corsa Sport system, but I will let everyone know and try to get some pics/sound clips up.

I had the Corsa Sport single side system installed at the dealer prior to delivery, on my GMC Ext Cab 5.3. Now I've had Borla, Gibson, and Magnaflow systems on other trucks. The Corsa system is top notch in quality and design.

I don't have a sound clip, but I can tell you that when the 5.3 drops down to 4 cylinders, I can tell it's happening. There is a faint flutter sound. Now my wife cannot tell, but I can. But to be honest, I hardly notice it any more. The system is quiet at cruise, but wakes up under acceleration with a very nice aggressive tone.

+1 Here,Just like Mazz said,The CORSA sport system is the way to go,Very little change when in V4 mode,Like he said I can tell it's happening without looking at the DIC but its so faint I don't really even pay attention to it or notice it,And remember I have the 6-liter so its probably more pronounced.

I've had CORSA sport systems on my last three trucks and loved'em all,The Gibson systems I had were total junk!

I've never had a BORLA system personally but have heard some not-so-good things about them.

From what I heard corsa and borla sound the same. GM's new catback exhaust is also made by borla. As for myself I am investing in magnaflow single rear exit catback. I have always loved the deep rumble it makes where as both corsa and borla have more of a crackling sound to it. But thats just my opinion. Also as for exhaust with the afm...I can't see it being a problem.. for me anyways because my truck never goes in 4cyl mode. I am heavy on the pedal all the time...I guess thats y I only get about 400km (19-20L/100km) per tank with my VMAX...That 6.0L is a pig and I love it!!!!

Same here!!! When I tell someone that my truck has the 6-liter in it the first thing they say is..."I bet your gas mileage sucks" or " I bet that thing sucks down the gas" and I say...."Yep,and I don't care"

I bought a full-size,4wd truck,with a big V8 in it!! I don't care about the gas mileage with it,Thats why I have a beater car that gets 25-26 MPG!!

Ditto on this... I have the sport system and the transition is negligible at best. I can hear it barely with the radio turned off, but the sound isn't ugly. On the other hand, catch a Tundra creeping at a stop light and you will suprise the sh&t out of him. The tires light and it sounds like somone yanked the muffler off.

Downside, I had to make some adjustments to the hangers as it didn't fit just right. Looks good now
