Add Tranny Temp Gauge?

Recommended Posts

I do alot of towing with my 4.8 Silverado & would like to add a tranny temp gauge. I know about the Denali cluster replacement I could go with but don't have the money for all that since I would have to buy the cluster then send it off to program the mileage.

What other options are there to add this gauge?

Aeroforce Interceptor is a popular option that will read tranny temp and a whole lot more. Here's the web-site:

If you do a search on this site there are a lot of people who have and like them.

I like the scan gauge 2, but they don't yet read tranny temp. They've been promising they are going to add that capability, but they are long overdue.

James, as Chris has said, there are a lot of folks with the Interceptor and I am one of them. I love the gauge and it is so easy to install. If you search the forum for Scan gauge pictures you can find some shots of mine installed in a single pod on the "A" Pillar. The gauge is so easy to install, simply plug into the OBD II port and run a hot wire to the fuse box using a Piggy back style fuse connection. Some models will power throught the OBD II Port. You can read any 2 funtctions at one time with the split screen and can change the brightness and background. It is a neat tool but my wife calls it a toy.

I found the best deal on mine through Race Car Supply and I think they were in Lexington, KY. I bought the pod and Interceptor from him.

Thanks Patrick,

I have been contacted by Interceptor and asked to be their Official Spokesperson. They promised to double what they had been paying me for recommending their unit. Let me see, that would get my commission all the way up to $0.00.

All jokes aside, you wonder if any of these companies ever lurk around on these forums to see if they can pick up any info about their product or their competition.

It was on the truck when I bought it. I have never been a big fan of these overlays but this one has grown on me. I would have removed it but I was concerned about the tape residue that holds it on.

The previous owner spent like $300.00 to have this overlay added.
