Factory Accessory Questions

I've got a 2008 Silverado 1500.

I bought off the lot since I didn't want to wait on ordering, so my truck didn't have some accessories I wanted.

Looking through the gm stuff, they have the locking tailgate kit p/n 17802393. What has to be done to key the lock? Is this something a locksmith/dealer has to do, or is it as easy as sticking my key in to code it?

Another one is the driver information center p/n 19159438. I'd like to be able to chenge the light settings, and door lock settings. Do all the new trucks have the wiring already there to plug right in and work? Is there any ecm programming to make this work?

Last thing is the factory tonneau cover p/n 19171111. Is this a decnt cover, or would I be better off getting aftermarket? The last one I had on my Dodge Ram was an extang, and after a few years, the snaps started coming off, and it was a pita in the cold months.

So far GMaccessoriesstore has the best prices I've found. Any comments on their service/shipping? Does the forum have any ties with another store/ site sponsor?

It depends on your truck. I have a WT and it was a Plug and play. all wires are there and ther are no programs to change Plug it in and it works. I bought it from the same place and I sent them an e mail to confirm it would work with my truck (i sent the vin) and they confirmed as well as sent me a copy of the installation directions.
