Dome Light Sneaky?

Okay I did a search and I see that the computer now controls the dome lights so what is it thinking? I replaced the rear dome light with an aftermarket DVD player with dome lights built in. wired it up works great ON- lights come on, DOOR – lights come on when the door is opened I finish up the install and the front map are working but not the ones on the DVD. Must have lost the ground. Pull it out nope everything is good but wait only 2.5 volts, pull inline fuse and I hear a relay in the dash trip and boom 12 volts put it all back up and it is good tell the 15 minute RAP time is up then no more lights. It was no different if the doors are open or closed. Now the kicker press the map light button and the relay trips and the DVD lights work again. I am guessing the computer is sensing a drain (sneak circuit) and cutting the power to it to save the battery. I will check for an amp drain tonight but I thought I would post to see if anyone has a fix.

Thanks for reading sorry so long.
