Hard Starting 2001 1500

just bought a 2001 1500 and when the engine's cold it cranks over for 3-5 seconds and then fires. any tips or fixes?

Have you tried changing the battery? That is what the problem was on my uncle's truck.

I dont think the battery is the problem but i will check again and do you think it would be wise to have a gm service dept run a diognostics test on it?

Go to Autozone and see what their code scanner says first. Don't you have to pay just for a dealership to run a scan tool on a vehicle?
