Plastic Gas Tank ?

so I think my 2001 yukon has a plastic gas tank.

Am i off the wall here

 

I think my 2000 formula has a plastic gas tank also?

 

Also does anyone know if there are linings in the new gas tanks and if these can flake off and make it so the hole tank need to be replaced?

The plastic tanks are pretty solid. Other than getting crap in them I haven't heard of any coming apart. I'm sure if they have SOMEBODY will speak up here.

haha, they have been doin the plastic thing on everything for years, if it is possible to make it out of plastic, they will figure out a way... they dont build em like they used to... but plastic gas tanks are good, they dont rust on the inside and there lite...
