Hi all

I need some help with some ideas to re-calabrate my speedo after my lift kit and tires get put on next week. First off will tell you what I am getting put on to help.

2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 4x4

Procomp 6 Inch Stage 2 lift kit.

Procomp 35x12.50x17 All Terrain Tires.

ProComp 6005 Crome Rims.

Here is where I need your help. I am Getting all this done at the shopt but I know the Speedo needs to be ajusted. Anyone one have ideas or place that can reset this for me to the new tire size. And are there any things I need to look out for or check after all this gets done.

Thanks in Advance

Mike,

The shop installing the lift should do this for you. Just ask them. All you need is one of those hand held computers that plugs into the ODB connection down by the parking brake. They should have one of these. If not, check some of the other custom car shops in your area. It only takes 15 minutes.

As far as other things to look out for, I'm not sure. I've haven't had the balls to lift my truck...YET!

Lets see some pictures when it gets done.

Leave it alone

Your speedo goes slower, essentially extending your warranty a bit.

Thats true BUT it also hurts fuel economy, performance & makes ABS & SDM systems not perform correctly. Also if your in a serious accident and you are at fault and end up going to Court the court will look dimly at incorrect speedo calibrations. Its happened many time already.

Not worth the risk with a 100000 mi warranty.

Hey Guys

Well Lift Kit and Tires are done. Just picked it up last night from 4 WheelParts store. They did a fantastic job. It looks great and even have scheduled a follow up to check the nuts and bolts. I will try and get pictures up sometime in the next few days.

Nope did not fix speedometer. it looks like it is about 5 miles off at about 65-70. I hope I am right about that so dont get nailed with ticket. I think I am going to get one of the Edge Evolution programers. I think that will allow me to adjust the speedometer to match with tires.
