Leather Aftermarket?

WE ARE LOOKING TO UPGRADE TO LEATHER; WHICH WASN;T A FACTORY OPTION ON A REGULAR CAB. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD SEND IT SOMEWHERE AND HAVE "CHAPPARAL LEATHER INSTALLED. WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BE A BETTER GRADE OF LEATHER THAN "FACTORY". AFTER A BAD GRADE OF GM LEATHER IN MY 06; I REALLY WAS SKEPTICAL ABOUT GM LEATHER BUT LOOKED AT THE LTZ NBS TODAY; THE GM LEATHER LOOKS BETTER THASN PREVIOUS YEARS LIKE MY 06. THE NEW EBONY LEATHER LOOKED THICK AND HEAVIER; MY 06 2500 LEATHER CRACKED AFTER ONLY 6 MONTHS; SUCKED. ANYONE HEARD OF KATZ LEATHER? WHO MAKES THE KING RANCH LEATHER IN THE FORDS? THANKS

I had to do the same thing to my last 3 Regular cab trucks, I just don't see what the big deal is for the mfg's, they make the seats in leather already for all the other cab, why not offer to put them into the regular cabs. Anyway I used the Katz skin leath kits on my last GMC, Ford F150, and now I have them in my Dodge regular cab. They are made of good quality leather, and so far as what I have seen, they do look better longer than OEM grade leather seats. I had the Ram head logo's embroidered into my dodge skins, so that it would look just like factory. I am not sure where Ford gets there king ranch leather, but its about the best quality there is.

Anythings better than the cheap-grade factory leather GM uses.

Its funny that they don't have the leather option for a regular cab. My 04 extended cab has leather, but only in the front. The back bench is actually vinyl. I still can't figure that one out. Guess I didn't pay enough. I mean the sticker was only 37,000. Must have been pesos.

my 06 extended cab was the same way. i was told chevy used an "underbellly leather"--cheap; where ford and some of the others used a top grain. i know mine cracked and split in the first 6-8 months back in 06 on a 39$k truck; man it was poor leather. looks like GM put a better grade in NBS 07 08

thanks; i am looking at katz; how much if u dont mind me asking; and who would actually do the install? it is just skins right? not a whole new seat assy? thanks

I had a local apolstry shop sell and install mine. I think they have been running me around a grand, installed for a regular cab truck.

Katzkin leather is real euro leather. It is the best aftermarket stuff you can get. Factory leather is not leather. It's vinyl. That is why it breaks and falls apart.

The seating surface is leather, just cheap leather.
