Overhead Console

I have a regular cab, and was trying to figure out what to do with the overhead slot. So... I'm looking for some ideas as to what you guys ahve done with it. I was thinking possibly a cb, although I wouldn't get as much use out of it as it deserves. My other thought was some kind of scanner/gauges that work with OBD II. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Scan gauges would be nice, although it would be somewhat difficult to see wouldn't it? (EDIT: that was a serious question. I don't think I have seen the console you are talking about.) I would just say put things like a radar detector, where you wouldn't have to see, but only have to hear it.

Now that you mention it I jsut went out, and your right, it is slightly out of the way, I like the idea of a radar detector, but they're illegal here and that would be a little too obvious a place to put it.... Back to square one, I just hate that waste of space when it looks like it would fit something so perfectly.

I don't know. I normally just put gum in my pocket, but mine is the one that is all the way in the front. I more have a problem with the pocket that is under the radio.

Ya i get that, but it seems like it would fit something just smaller than din perfectly....

 

I wish I had a pocket below the radio so that I could fit a Double Din Deck in there... Come to think of it shouldn't we have the same dash? or do you have an aftermarket deck in there, hence the pocket?

No it is the tee-tiny one that is about cell phone sized. Looks like it was meant for a button for an option that I don't have.

Ooooh, you mean the one on the left ahnd side of the steering wheel? Ya thats for the auto 4wd stuff. Thats another place I wish something could be done with, its on too much of a grade so my phone falls out...

 

Does anyone know if the rear A/C controls from a long overhead console would fit in there? That would make for lots of room for a nice nav unit if I could move the A/C.
