07 Nbs, 6600 Miles

07/6.0 oil leak from behind the starter ( behind small black plate behind starter). Also , to a lesser extent wet around the bell housing inspection plate. Can t see anything else. What the likely area it is leaking from?

Rear main seal

Yes, there is a TSB for the rear main seal, however, it took my dealer 3 tries to solve mine. 1st guess/attempt was oil pan gasket and oil cooler line manifold block gasket. Did not help. 2nd attempt I informed my dealer about the TSB for the rear mains, they acknowledged and replaced my rear main seal. It helped, but I still got oil by the starter. 3rd try they replaced the Crank sensor assembly, dry as a bone now.

thanks guys, my leak look like yours but a little less severe. Hope I dont offend them with all this info and bulletin #s. Not like I m trying to tell them something, just want it right the first time. Is the GMC bulletin # the same for the GMC and chevy trucks? Going in Wed.

UPDATE, dealer says it s the crank position sensor and they will order part. They do make me laugh, they said "it s not really a leak".
