Dual-exaust Warranty And A Rattle In The Front Driver Suspension.

One of my in-laws has a 07 Silverado just like mine, he bought his first actually. He said a shop told him that if he dualed out the exhaust that GM would void the warranty on the rear suspension. Now, that doesn't make much sense to me, has anyone heard anything like this. I want dual exhaust but want to check with someone that might more a little than my in-law. How could a dual exhaust void the suspension warranty? They aren't even related unless it's a crappy shop and they have the pipes laying on something it shouldn't. Thanx in advance.

I am also getting this loud rattle that sounds like suspension or control arms, idk real, in the front driver-side when we turn right and hit "MINOR" bumps, I don't sound normal, my Coly doesn't do it in the same situation and neither did the Envy we just got rid of. It definitely sounds like something is wrong.

It's annoying cause I talked my wife out of a Toyondissan on the premise that GM trucks are fairly bullet-proof, we had a few problems with the Envoy (minor problems. bought it used though, and you just can't tell how they were treated before you get them when their are used), now we got a problem after three weeks.

Her snobby ass sister said why did you buy a Chevy, you could have a "NISSAN TITAN" right now :driving: . If I wasn't a Man I could have slapped the taste out of her mouth. You know, I don't criticize her for being 30 with 2 kids and a dead-beat husband all living in her parent's house  . That heifer had the audacity to tell my wife she is irresponsible for buying a brand new vehicle a year after she got her last one  , well, do for yourself and favor, get a better job, move up outta mommy's and daddy's house, put down the glass of hatorade and you might be able to do something for your self.

Btw. It's got a 4.8, 4 speed auto, ext-cab.

p.s. Sorry for the long post and accompanying rant.

Thanx for any help.

Sly,

GM has had problems with the intermediate steering shaft clunking. The older ones were repacked to no avail, GM has a new replacement shaft as of about 6 months ago. Mine was replaced, but the all the clunking did not go away. GM replaced the lower steering bearing and body mount insulators (bulletin 06-08-61-003A), so far so good. All is under warranty.

I had a very similar issue, when I would turn left into my driveway I would get a nice noise from my passenger side. It turned out to be a loose bolt on the upper control arm. Took a wrench to it and no more noise.
