I have an 04 that has the stock CD/Cassette stereo. My wife got me a JVC unit to install in my truck. I can't find the right wiring harness I need to install this. Someone told me that the alarm and door chimes go through the factory radio so I might not be able to put this in. Am I stuck with what I got? Is buying a different head unit from GM the only thing that will keep all my current features working?

Walmart now sells one made by Scoshe for 38 bucks. It will allow you to install a stereo in any 2003 on up. It includes the harness and the chime module that you need.

I ended up getting the SCOSCHE wiring kit from Walmart. For $38 vice $80 for the other unit online. The only down side of this is I wish they made the lead to the chime box a little longer to give me more options with the install. Other than that minor detail it works like a champ. Now I can finally enjoy my XM without RF interference on every frequency.
