Weird Vibe At Deceleration 55-57mph

My 07 has a weird vibe-humming sound when you are decelerating from 57-54ish mph...it goes away after those speeds and it is not appearent at acceleration

 

what can it be. rear tires not balanced?

Just guessing here, but it possibly could be a drive-shaft issue.

 

I had a '99 S-10 Extreme x-cab and due to the angle of the driveshaft U-joints, GM engineered a couple CV joints into the shaft to tweak the angles a little bit. The CV joints would wear out every 10-15k miles and the driveshaft would start vibrating terribly, I would have to buy essentially 4 u-joints and a couple ball-n-socket rebuild kits every 6 months or so. I finally had enough, and my driveshaft guy fabbed up a driveshaft without the CV joints, just a U-joint on each end.

 

Long story short, the new driveshaft would vibrate at a high frequency within a certain speed range, which created a mild humming noise, which IIRC was about 53-56 mph or so. The vibe-hum never went away, but I didn't have to replace the u-joints for the next 20k miles plus either (then I sold it).

 

All this to say, I would take it to the dealer - since it's an 07 you likely have warranty in effect.

'07 classic or NBS?

 

I had an '06 with vibration problems in that range decelerating as well as one at higher freeway speeds. If it's a 4wd it could literally be anything from the front differential to the transfer case to transmission and driveshaft issues. when they went searching for my problem they found bad bearings in the front diff as well as the transfer case.
