Different Plugs With Headers

I was talking with an installer about headers, he was trying to tell me that you need to run a heat range cooler when you install headers. He went as far to say that JBA wont warranty their headers if you dont run cooler. He is the only one that has come up with this, and it is a very well respected speed shop. Any help.

 

I do have JBA shortys and the replacement plugs that are in it are stock heat range.

I'm not sure I would listen too closely to anything this guy says. You can run smaller shots of nitrous and not need cooler heat ranged plugs. You should have asked him if he had too many spark plugs in stock.

Hey Gator, I'm thinking about adding headers (JBA/GIBSON). From your experience, were you pleased vs. the stock exh. manifolds? Any difference in drivability? Exhaust tone?

you definitely DON'T need colder plugs. I know many of people that run headers, exhaust, intake, nitrous etc... and use stock plugs with absolutely no problems. I run a supercharger, headers, exhaust, etc... with stock plugs and have no spark plug related issues. Stick with the stockers
