98 Vortec Won't Start

ok, bought truck with spun bearing knocking bad! replaced engine with used 60000 mile engine, now it will only start when I pour gas in the throttle body. there is pressure in the fuel line but not sure how much, I am going to find a gauge today and find out. could the injectors be stopped up from the used motor setting for about 6 months? just grabbing at straws right now. any advice would be greatly appreciated. It is a 98 chevy vortec 5.7. heading out now to work on it.

ok, went and tested fuel pressure it was good 60psi . so I changed out the fuel injectors with the old engine I had and it started right up. Now I have a vacum leak around the oval hole where the injectors plug in. I put a brand new o ring on it and everything and it still wants to leak. anyone ever have this problem? Not sure what to try next, that really is a poor design there isn't much room for it to seal in the hole. ANY IDEAS ANYONE?

I guess the injectors must haave been varnished and stuck. engines sounds great otherewise just need to get vacum leak fixed?

when you put those plennums on you need to lube the o-ring good or it may slide down and not seal right, they are kind of difficult to get the plennum to sit right...

I did oil it but maybe not enough, seems like a pretty weak design. i'll try to redo it later today and see what happens. thanks

Lube it with petroleum jelly and it will seal up.
