91 Sierra Wandering Issues

Hello everyone im new to these forums they look great!

 

My issue is i was off road trying to find a shortcut to a hidden lake and got stuck really bad and was driving over stumps and really rough terrain. Now i noticed my truck is wandering a lot more on the road then it used to. Basically i find im always correcting as im driving from side to side. One other thing i noticed right as this happend is this:

Say im pulling past a parking spot then i put the truck in reverse and start to back up and crank the wheel to get into the spot. Well as im slowly backing up and cranking the wheel it makes a noticable popping or clunk sound somewhere.

 

So far from what i can tell my tires and wheels look ok, but im no expert. I also looked at my tie rods and relay rod idler arm and they show no physical damage from just looking at them. I really want to get these 2 issues fixed, its almost winter here now and im going to be getting my winter tires put on soon, should i just wait until then and see if that changes anything?

oh sorry i forgot i should say its a 1991 sierra XC 4x4 with a 5.0L V8 305

I just wanted to add in the best way i could describe this is i could be driving and holding the wheel straight and any little bit of grove in the pavement or bump feels like im going off an edge and easily pulls my truck around to the sides so im constantly correcting.

Did you bend anything? I'd check the alignment, check the Toe In, Toe out, Camber, Caster settings

Im guessing i would have to take it to an alignment shop for this because i wouldnt know where to start. Is this pretty expensive?

Depends on your area, I did the same thing except mine is a 2WD (yeah I know dumb) but my dealer realigned it for around $60 bucks and then test drove it afterward to make sure, if the dealer is too high, find a reputable alignment shop.

Cool thats not too bad at all i was just hopping it would be under a few hundred dollars. I guess they will probably be able to tell me if anything is bent when they try to align it all. I have to say Cueva you're an awesome help and an asset i can already tell on these forums! THx for the help on both my posts

you might need a new idler or pitman arm on the front end, it isnt much more expensive than 200. Probably lower.
