I have a 2007 Silverado LT with the DIC using the trip meter reset button, which gives you very limited information as compared to the dash mounted buttons. If the DIC dash switch is purchased(GMpart#19159438) is there already a connector hidden behind the dash that can be plugged into the purchased switch or does the dealer have to program it to use the dash switches.

It's all there already. Do a search on it. Somebody posted a really good full install review a while back in here.
