Side Exhaust

Has any one done a side exhaust in front of the tire and if so is there any advantage or disadvantage to it. I am asking because I was looking at the new 427 concept and it had side exhaust on it and I liked it. Thanks

Shouldn't be any different than regular behind tire setups, probably a little louder since the exhaust tip isn't traveling all the way to the back.

i noticed the concept as well and was wanting to put magnaflow side exhuats on my truck...but one of the guys at a shop over here said he wont do it cuz its next to the gas tank cap...and everywhere else i went said they woulold....so i guess sum people are chicken s**t and stupid...i hope the people where u live arent such assholes....

on the GMT900 in question - the gas tank / filler is on the drivers side , the exhaust per Magnaflow / Gibson esits on the passenger side

your 2004 may be different ..

My buddy has side exit, he had a Gibson super truck setup but drone was so bad on highway, he had to change it out. Awesome rumble, and nice and loud on full gas.

Sounds good! How's the interior drone?

I think it looks really good with the side exits, but Ford use to do this from the factory and they stopped because the heat was damaging the wheels over time. Just something to think about. Otherwise, it's a Bad A.. look.

heres a clip of my side exit exhaust...fyi...i believe ford did stop making these exhausts on their trucks due to the exhaust steam making the rims have carbon build-up....many ppl had to get their rims warrantied and ford changed their exhausts to exit behind the rear tire.... in my application i have tephlon rims .....nothing sticks to these things they are awesome...i believe it would be more of an issue with chrome or polished wheels.... i have noticed my center caps getting frosty (winter) .... but other than that no issues.... I may run into problems down the road running it in the winter as the exhaust fumes tend to swirl through the wheel well then out the back of the truck.... worst that can happen is it messes up the paint but i get a free paint job every 2 years from work due to contamination in the air from the acid...(copper smelter)

exhaust looks awesome, sounds awesome and not too many ppl run it like that and that makes it unique... i believe im the only one in my town of 50000 to have one ...but im sure not for very long once ppl start to see it around...
