Navigation/dvd Swap

Hi I have recently bought a 2007 silverado ltz with bose. It does not have navigation but i am in the process of looking at adding the factory nav/dvd. What is needed for this conversion? Also where is the nav antenna placed during this conversion. Thanks for your help!!

You might want to check out www.jpcustoms.com They sell a kit that I think is required to connect the nav to your vss sensor. Doesn't look like much, just a small harness that plugs in. You have to go to the dealer and have the nav unit programmed to match your vin# of your truck. That is probably 1/2 hour labor charge. Not sure about the antenna location. Someone else on here that has actually done the conversion might be able to answer that. Everything else should just plug in.

You should look into getting an aftermarket nav system as well. I just purchased a pioneer AVIC-D3 for my 07 ltz. It should be here today. Refurbished, $645 shipped from ebay. Harness and steering wheel control adapter and dash kit ~$170. Not sure how cheap you can get a factory one for, but I would prefer to get the quality of an aftermarket stereo even if it was the same price.

I bought a factory screen on ebay, I perfer the factory look. Thanks for the jp customs site that was a big help. But does anyone know about the antenna??

If I remember correctly you lift the front top of the dash(the part closest to the window). I think it just pops up and the antenna mounts underneath.
