Cargo Management System Toolbox W/ Tonneau

Recommended Posts

I am contemplating getting the cargo management system installed in my nbs silverado. If I use the toolbox on rails, can you still have the factory tonneau or an aftermarket tonneau installed? Does anyone have the system with the toolbox and a tonneau they can share pics of?

Thanks!

I have the CMS with big toolbox and removeable side boxes, and I'd like to add a tri-fold cover. The boxes are recessed, so it doesn't appear to be an issue, but I'm looking for confirmation. I'm assuming I'll have to remove the GM bedrail covers too.

Funny you should mention this.

I have the cargo management system on my 08 Denali. I also sprung for the sliding divider, which is similiar to the sliding toolbox and, like the toolbox, it uses the lower rail. Now I think I may have a problem. My Leer 800 hard tonneau just arrived (appt Tues) and I just realized that the newer hard tonneau's have a hinge system similiar to the hinges on your hood. At this point, I don't know how this is going to work until I see it. The older tonneau's wouldn't be a problem because they hinged on the top of the box at the front. Usually a couple of tabs that fit into slots on the forward rail. Most of the hard tonneau's have evolved into this new setup cause they allow the cover to open up much better.

Nothing beats the clean look a painted-to-match hard tonneau offers but you might consider one of the folding versions that don't use these new "scissor" hinges.

I'll know more in a few days.

My gut instinct says most covers should work with CMS and the CMS toolbox with aftermarket covers as well.

Here's my CMS with a Access Cover...

Riki, Does your Bedrug get wet near the tailgate? My Access cover/tailgate let's water in during heavy rain or car washes. Doesn't matter to me since I have the Line-X and no Bedrug. I was just curious. I know they make a tailgate seal, do you have that?

No clue if it gets wet as I've only washed it once since the install and it hasn't been rained on yet but I'd say no since I did buy the "Limited Edition" Access cover because it came with a tailgate seal.

On my last truck w/ Access cover, the bed would be full of dust when driving on a gravel road so I'm hoping the seal helps with that.

I'm contemplating getting the Cargo Management System for my truck. My buddy has it on his new 2008 2500. We discovered that the sliding tie down hooks can slide out the back so anybody--ANYBODY--can swipe them off your truck. At $35.53 a set, can get pricey to replace. I recommend to drill holes at the end of the rails and install locks. Or wait until some aftermarket company makes them with a keyed lock. zoz

I can tell you for sure that the sliding toolbox/divider are a no-go with the new Leer 800. Not only do the rear hinges hang down past the rails but even the front ones are a problem too. Choose a model that hinges on the top forward rail.
