Looking For A Little Lift

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm in an 07 GMC 1500 4x4 ec Classic SLE. I have BFG All Terrains in stock size. 265, 70 R 17 [if memory serves.] For a little higher stance what would you recommend. I feel a little gypped by GM as the Ford and Dodge stock trucks are quite a bit higher. I think GMC is even lower in the stock 2500 aren't they?

Would I be satisfied with the torsion crank / block lift? I think it gets about 2". This seems like it is hard on the suspension.

Thanks

I wouldn't just crank the TBs, it will ride HORRIBLE. I put new adjusters on my TBs and got about 2.5" and didn't crank the TB bolts in any farther than they were originally. check it out:

That makes no sense, you put new keys and didn't have to crank the bolts as much to get lift, that's because the hex hole in the keys are indexed differently from the stock ones. So you gain more lift without cranking the bolts but the TB's still have more twist to them which is what cranking the stock ones do. So its the same thing you're still twistin the TB's one way or the other.

Let me tell yah from experience, I messed with just cranking the tbs on my 99 rcsb, and did the ford keys on my 00... HUGE difference!
