Issues With Removing Factory Radio?

I'm thinking about replacing the radios in my 07 Silverado (Bose 6-Disc) and my wife's 07 Tahoe (Bose, single) with a unit that has Nav/ipod/bluetooth/camera. If I want to sell the old radios (here or ebay) is there anything I need to worry about with regards to removal? I know that there are some theft-prevention measures, but do I need to do anything to allow the buyer to get it programmed once they buy it, or as long as it's not reported stolen should it be okay?

They do have anti-theft features built-in. If you move that HU into another vehicle, it won't work. But the dealer can reset it. Just not sure what they actually check to make sure it's not stolen.

The dealer has to reset the VIN # that is stored in the radio. There is no way for them to know if the radio was bought or stolen, though. You should remind the buyer that they will have to take the radio to the dealership to reset the VIN.

Hope that helps.
