Ok, I just got the truck and it has 111,000 miles on it. Here is what has happend so far.

* At highway speeds it will cut out for ~ .5 seconds and the rpms will plumet then go back to normal driving.

* At low speeds in traffic it will completly cut of and I will have to restart the truck.

* I noticed today when I was using the cruise control when it cut out on the hwy after I tried to use the cruise again and it wouldnt come on, but later after the truck was turned off then back on the cruise was working again. Weird.

* I just went and got my codes checked just incase because there are none on and there were 2 for the tranny. Which include:

1. P1779 - Engine Torque Delivered to TCM signal

2. P0700 - Transmission Control System Malfunction

What does this mean and how can the engine cut out if they dont have the same computer? Could I just have engine problem that doesnt show up in the codes and the tranny codes are just thier no being the problem? Oh and this has happend on monday(4 times) & today(~4 times).

It sounds like it (The Transmission) is kicking into limp mode. It does this to protect itself from further damage. I doubt it's the engine, you probably have a clutch pack that's burned up. Don't panic, you can buy a Suncoast kit that will make it a much stonger transmission. I would conact Mike L. at Inglewood Transmission in Southern California or Eric at Merchant Auto in Michigan. They both have web sites you can check out. You might want to talk to the person you bought it from, I'll bet he had a programmer and ran it hard, once it starts limping it only gets progressively worse. I would be willing to bet that it started limping on him and that's why he sold it. Good Luck.

It could possibly be the sender coming from the crank shaft sensor. My 2500HD did something similair and then would stall and needed to restart it. Not certain but well worth a try.
