Problems With Fuel Delivery!

I have a 96 chevy 4X4 5.7 liter vortec. One day I went to crank my truck and it would not start, so I replaced the fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and tuned it up (cap, rotor, plugs)and stll nothing. It will fire and spin over great, fuel pumps 50 psi. but this rig wont even try to start. if you pour gas in the throttle body it will fire right up. Any ideas?

My '97 Silverado 5.7 had the fuel pump replaced after stalling intermittantly in traffic (not enjoyable). In the following weeks, it continued to die in traffic. The next owner :sigh: determined that the connectors in the wires leading to the fuel pump was corroded and arcing out, disrupting power to the fuel pump. Has not died since.

Can you hear the fuel pump running when the key is initially turned on?

Another great suggestion. My '88 S-10 had the same problem and I only discovered it after I changed the fuel pump and got the whole thing put back together. Had to tear it apart again to fix it!
