Evap Solenoid Valve Removal

I need to R&R the Evap Solenoid Valve from the manifold of my 04 Avalanche. A Poster on another board has to do the same thing and he is having a problem removing the clip holding the evap line to the solenoid. I am going to attempt to remove mine tomorrow...any tricks to removing it?

No trick. Just pull the clip back and then pull up on the line to remove it from the solenoid. You should not have any problem.

Ive got a stupid question thats kinda related....where IS the EVAP solenoid? I have a control circuit DTC that I would like to investigate. (PS...would problems with this soleniod contribute to horrible fuel milage? Also, its a 99 Sierra 5.3L)

My 04 Avalanche has a 5.3 Vortec, remove the cover on top of the manifold and it is visible at the front of the manifold. It is held down by a 8mm bolt and has a wring clip and a plastic hose into the top of it.
