Check This Part

This may have been addressed before, but here it is. Check the plug on the rear of the truck for corrosion. Mine failed at the #3 blade and it was for my electric brakes. Don't be stuck without them when you need them. Take it apart and regrease it. The replacement is $62 at the dealer!

I check mine, thanks by the way, and they are fine. I am wondering if spraying them with dielectric grease would help prevent corrosion.

Yep,Dielectric grease is what I use on mine,I coated mine right from the start on both of my GMT800 trucks,as well as my '07.

I actually do both sides as a "preventative" measure.

Do you have a part number for this from the dealer????

Thanks

For the '99-'07 GMT800 "Classic" trucks the part number is 12191503.

For the '07-'08 GMT900 "New-Body-Style" trucks the part number is 15932302.
