Suburban Guys, I Need A Big Favour

If anybody out there owns a 00-02 Suburban/YukonXL I was wondering if you could do me a big favour. I would like to what happens when you open or not completely close any of the side doors when your truck is running and in gear. I always thought you would get a display message and hear chimes. When I don't have the doors completely closed or open when my truck is in gear I don't get any chimes or display. So basically I don't know if all the doors(Except the drivers Door)are closed while the truck is in gear. I don't want my kids falling out of the truck because the doors aren't completely closed. Please let me know what your Suburban does when the above condition exists. Thanks in advance.

The only message you will get is on the dash telling you if the rear hatch or glass is not closed.

You'll get nothing if any of the passenger doors are open.

Thanks Patrick, My cheapass 02 Malibu gives warning chimes if the doors are not completely closed when the vehicle is in gear and I can't believe my Suburban doesn't do the same thing. C'mon Guys, lets hear more feedback on this. I'm hoping somebody elses 00-02 Suburban/YukonXL does something different.

My 06 will chime and give a message on the DIC when any of the doors or hatchback are not completely closed and you put it in gear.

doesn't the dome light come on if the doors aren't closed all the way? I'd think that'd be enough.

I don't think the dome light will go on if the door is open just a tiny amount, i.e. the door is latched, but not completely closed. I could be wrong though.
