You know you want to, and I know you've all got the digital cameras fired up anyway.

 

Post up the cool stuff you got (or got for a loved one) for us all to ogle and be jealous of.

 

I'll start...Since I'm impossible to buy for (I buy myself just about everything I want), I get stupid crap. Stupid crap that's funny.

I got Guitar Hero 2 from my wife. Then I put on a smile and asked her if she still had the receipt as Guitar Hero 3 is the one I want. She meant well.

I got what I always wanted5 months ago, my daughter....didn't get much for Christmas, but I spoiled the hell out of her!!

I made out pretty d**n well this year. I got an iPod, 3 CDs, a bigass Maglite, some candy, and my dad surprised the hell out of me with a set of Shimano Deore XT shifters for my mountain bike.

 

From my aunt's/ucles/grandparents I pretty much just got money, and itunes giftcards.

 

Now I just have to copy a couple hundred cds onto the computer and figure out to work the ipod...

I got a new redwings work belt to match my work boots, my wife tells me my belt has to match my boots, and a pair of underwear. Whoopdedo

some of my Christmas observations:

 

after opening 1.8 gallons of cologne and installing 27 AA batteries... I'm "into" Christmas!

 

I remember what daddy used to say on Christmas morning: "When I was a kid, all we got was a poke of hard candy and maybe an orange, and we were lad to git it"

 

The tiny fingers of the 12 year old Chinese factory workers are perfectly suited to tying the 18 different wire ties to the back of the box where the lead painted toy is fastened to

 

It's hard enjoying my Christmas lights when I know my electric meter is spinning fast enough to make heat for the dog house

 

You know, egg nog is good, but it is too thick and must be thinned out.........................

The Craftsman tool Santa hit my house!!!

 

I got a creeper, jack stands and 3ton floor jack combo. got a rechargeable LED work light, a halogen double work light with stand, and some striped nut removers.

 

then i also got some dvds, a new harley shirt, little mp3 player, thermos, and a few bucks.

 

so far its been a great Christmas.

 

 

oh yeah, and i got to spend Christmas with my mom, who i dont see often because shes a missionary in Ecuador. So thats great in itself.

I'm a lot like Mike, in the sense that most people give me money. My dad was gonna get me a new processor, but when he found out ya needa know what socket you have he decided to give me cash instead :(

 

My girlfriend pre-ordered the Dream Theater (my favorite band) biography "Lifting Shadows"

I got what I wanted, lots of clothes and some cologne. I get truck stuff myself, I'm too picky for someone to get me truck stuff. My G/F did get my windows tinted with 20% a few weeks ago for Christmas, I've always wanted that.

hmmm well i got the main things i had been wanting that wernt to expensive ... (make up a list every year for relatives .. with expensive stuff at the top .. and then things i really want at the bottom .. usually works out hah) ...

 

got a DVD widescreen version of the old movie 'Hot Lead and Cold Feet' ... haha ... now to annoy my kid with it ...

  1. Rear wheel well liners and contoured mudflaps for the truck.
  2. Jack-stands to make those installs and the as-yet-to-be-purchased drop shackles safer.
  3. A set of Craftsmen metric combination wrenches.
  4. A set of Craftsmen SAE combination wrenches.
  5. 2 500GB hard drives for the computer.
  6. Some cash.

I made out pretty well this year.. and that's not even counting the camcorder I bought a few weeks back or the stuff I did to the truck a month or so back! It's been a really good year!

 

There's plenty to be thankful for! :)

Just what I normally ask for, lots of clothes! Mainly because I don't like shopping for clothes, and if it's electronic, I'll buy it myself. Which I did. :(

      This is a 1/2 ton thing ONLY.  All HDs 2020-2026 have the two speed transfer case, with Autotrac as an option.     1/2 tons 2019-2026, regular 4x4s come with a single speed case (no 4LO!), and trucks with Z71 ordered, or all Trail Boss trucks come with the 2 speed case.  2 speed case is also an option on WT, and is also standard on High Country.

      2013 5.3 still to this day calls for the PF48 filter.  Which as a 15psi bypass pressure.     There is a TSB, 17-NA-157 that talks about the PF-63 and PF-64 filters which have a higher bypass rating of 22psi.    TSB HERE - temp.xml   "Beginning in 2012, the oil pumps began to regulate main gallery feedback instead of pump out pressure. This means that the oil pump now does not begin to regulate until pressure is built up to the main gallery. This change reduces the amount of time it takes to provide oil to the engine bearing and lifters during extreme cold start conditions.  Main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are present on the following engine families which use Spin-on oil filters: Small Gas Engine (SGE), Large Gas Engine (LGE), High Feature (HFV6) Gen2 and Small Block Gen5 gasoline engines. These engines with the main gallery feedback oil pump control systems are factory built with an ACDelco® oil filters"   It also calls out what engines use those filters.  The gen 4 small blocks were not on that list (LMG, LC9, L9H, L92, L94, L20, L96).  Gen 5 small blocks use the higher pressure filter.          That all said...   Your 7045 Napa filter is the PF63 equivalent, with 22psi bypass.  You are already using the higher bypass pressure filter.  You CAN keep using it, you don't technically have to use it though.

      Do you know WHY the filter relief setting was increased to 22 psig?    When the new system goes into the second stage the pump volume ramps up considerably. It was found that the 15 psi filter bypass setting put the filter in bypass on a warm engine when the second stage was activated. Raising the filter bypass setting forced the filter to do what it designed to do. Filter. Preventing debris from circulating during high load, high rpm operation.    So next question is how did GM find this out? VLOM/lifter failures and a deep dive by Melling Corp.    Last question. Is it required? Look at it like this; a motor may be equipped with a rev limiter. But it only works if the set point in reached. That 22 psig setting only matters if the pressure differential across the filter media exceeds 15 psig during normal warm operation. Second stage kicks in around 3000-3500 rpm.    I can't answer your question because I don't know you and how you use the truck. But I think there is enough information here to let you decide for yourself. 😉

      Probably not their first rodeo, so it should go as planned most likely.  Typically the service manager or tech doing the swap will put some seat time to shake it down after they get it all put back together.  We usually put 50-100mi before we hand them back so if something happens, its not after you get it.  A coolant leaks, oil leaks, a ground left off or loose, vibration, etc.     The new engines so far have been good?  There's been a couple that have popped out there again (the replacement engine) but most have been okay.
