Message Center Questions

Today the "LOW FUEL" message came across my message center. After a few seconds, it then switched to "LOW COOLANT". It then began switching back and forth until the next time I turned the truck off. It was low on fuel, but I'm not sure about the coolant, I did not check. I've never seen the low coolant light before, and it didn't come back on. How did that happen? I did notice though, that when it switched back and forth, it briefly flashed their respective messages before fully displaying them. Why did that happen? I've had 2 "messages" at the same time before, but it hasn't ever done that before.

 

The truck is an '01 GMC 2500LD 4x4 if it matters.

hi james,you have to find out about the coolant before we go any further,,it is a normal condition for the DIC to flicker like that ,you should make sure you have enough fuel and coolant ,take it to a dealer if it continues,good luck

The coolant is ok. I think maybe it just had to do with the fact that it hasn't been above 33 degrees here, and it was the first time i started it in 12 hours or so. I didn't know if anyone else has had similar problems.
