jrrod2004 Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Before I take it back into the shop, I am going to ask (I really didn't find anything in DealerWorld) about the GMT800 HVAC controls. I usually have it on BI setting (Head and feet) and slowly turn it up to fan speed #5. last week or so, every time I turn it to the #5 setting, I hear a pop/crackle coming from the passenger wheel well and also from the passenger speaker (I tested it by putting my ear next to it and having my brother turn the knob (radio was on and off) and I still heard it - any ideas what it could be?
hubbycap Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Could be trash (leaf, twig, bug) in fan shroud kicked up by high blower.
hubbycap Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 HVAC blower not engine cooling fan. HVAC blower and ducting is in dash.
jrrod2004 Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 cool in that case, I will blame the dealership because they do all the details on the truck and also are the ones responsible for pulling the entire dash apart last time for warranty work...
hubbycap Posted December 27, 2007 Posted December 27, 2007 Yea, that trash could be a little piece of plastic or something light. Did this coincide with that warranty work?
jrrod2004 Posted December 27, 2007 Author Posted December 27, 2007 yeah it was in for the d**n belt squeaking and the radio being replaced.....this started a couple of days after that visit........
